But Julius Mizzi was a three rounder, I fought about no 1819 of those. Then, when I was 14 years old, when I was 16. I turned pro. What weight class? A pardon what weight class that time there was a featherweight when you turn pro right when I turned pro was a featherweight. Amateur Boxing. And I kept on fighting and I had about 38 or 37 fights including the amateurs in 1930. Ford Marian West. I guess you heard about that Mary West. And it was during the the depression you know, everybody was poor. We have nothing you know, we didn't get paid nothing. But anyway, it was my first semifinals first sixth rounder that I was gonna fight in the first round and I knocked him down a couple of times a second round the same thing. Third round ones. Then all of a sudden he comes to a red cross that I never saw. And I haven't seen it yet. A I'm not kidding you up to this date. I don't remember ever getting out of the armory. They're going home or nothing. Next day, but two o'clock in the afternoon. I woke up. I was laying on my mother's bed. There were three ladies that used to help her a lot. Dr. Godself was there the priest was there and I was completely out. So I opened my eyes and I looked around I said what happened? My mother My mother was crying God bless her. She She was crying my sisters my brothers everybody whether you know the family. So then they were so glad that I opened my eyes and I sit beside their bed. And I tried to get up and I cute over again. Until about seven o'clock in the evening. And then the southern part I won the southern part and promontory one the northern side and in the star hops upstairs so you know, where the water was the chief police chief Jack Dyer and and the promoter the bullfighters the managers receive who was who was going to wear what and everything you know, and whether the fight was going to be held either in Phoenix, he won the northern I went to Southern and by a flip of a coin. They are there at the star office upstairs. You know. They were gonna sit to see who won. The fight was going to be here in Tucson or in Phoenix. So Jack Dyer through the and the gardener called in and we want it here. It was Ramon Taurus, and we fought for that. We were the finalists and I we had for the ones before we hit for it. Labor temple. I went on decision on on that. And then the second fight. Well, anyway, he was a 10 round fight is gonna be a 10 round fight. And he was oh, he was a beautiful boxer, you know, and smart. So we started in the first round, you know, he, I threw a left hook to the body. And he jumped and I hit him low. And remember Frankie Mason, Georgia Mason, the referee said, I want to I want to I will take a point from from you. Why you hit him low, he jumped. I said it wasn't my fault. So that's why we three times he did that as opposing points on that three, three points or three times. You know, he was really smart. He he found a he went ask somebody what were my best punch which was to the body you know? So finally, George you start the fight. He gave me the fight. And then I told him tell that so you know what I mean? And he got mad and he threw a punch at me and he we went at it again. Camacho there remember the cop Camacho surely three or four that got in the ring and everybody howling. Let him go let him go. Which we did. We let her go.
